Some Stuff That We Do

Mercado

Mercado is our sort-of bimonthly artist market. The first few were a total hoot and the next one will be along soon.

Trails

Trails Forepaw‘s monthly drawing night/ publishing experiment just keeps getting better.

Tape Projects

Tape Projects are holding a series of artist talks at our place, usually on the last monday of every month. Check their site for info.

Run! You Beasts!

Run! You Beasts! This is the short film and video compilation DVD we helped Pip make in 2006. R!YB! II is now seeking submissions!

Summer Winds

Summer Winds are putting on monthly shows here from now on. Each night is a smorgasbord of artschool punk and herky-jerky hottness, with hand-picked performers from all over the country and beyond.

Head Muzak

Head Muzak was an interactive installation by Michael Prior that lived at Forepaw in March of this year. You can watch the little video we made and read the artists statement here.

Saturday 28th: Fulton Girls Club / Karate Party / The Girlfriend Pillow

A short one: This Saturday, the 28th of April, Fulton Girls Club, Karate Party, and The Girlfriend Pillow are playing at Forepaw. Show starts at 8, a gold coin will grant you entry and, as always, it's all-ages.

Have a bit of a trawl on the old myspace if you're curious. That's what we did.

MONDAY: SODA_JERK ARTIST TALK

The 3rd in our series of free monthly artist talks presented by Tape Projects. From the Soda_Jerk website...

"Soda_Jerk (Dan & Dominique Angeloro) are two Sydney-based remix artists working across the areas of video, photo-collage and installation. They work exclusively with found material, recombining fragments of film footage, audio samples and vintage image culture. Soda_Jerk also work collaboratively as curators and arts writers."

We screened their Pixel Pirate II film here a while ago, and it was very strange, very funny, very smart and technically mind-boggling. If you're a person who is interested in just about anything Soda_Jerk's work probably touches on it. Our artist talks are informal, informative and enlightening, with plenty of opportunities for questions, discussion and debate. And eating.

Ross Manning and Danny Jenatsch

This Saturday the 14th of April, Ross Manning and Danny Jenatsch will be setting up an installation of spectacular sound generating junk, roto switching machines and custom homemade electronics. The show will be open from 6pm until "late", and there'll be two performances, one at 7pm and one at 9pm. Please note that that this show is FREE and for ONE NIGHT ONLY, so this'll be your only chance to catch this potentially brain-melting extravaganza.

New Pitchers

Both our gigs over the Easter weekend were excellent, excellent events. Thankyou to everyone involved. We've just posted a pile of dark and blurry photos up in our pictures section.

NEW SITE IS UP!

Hope you all like it. We're still tweaking the archives and polishing rough edges, and there's some new bits and pieces we're working on, so keep an eye on us in the coming days/weeks. And of course, let us know what you think.

Gigs this weekend

So, this Saturday at 9pm we have two groops all the way from Tasmania: Moe Grizzly and Hammering the Cramps. There might be some local cats too and there might be a film or two later on and there will definitely be some kind of big fuckin racket going on.

On Sunday, at 8pm we have Look!Pond (Bris), Boy's Club (Syd), Everybody Ruins and Snaxx. This will also involve a bit of a racket.

If you're not doing nothing tomorrow (that's Friday), we heartily recommend heading down to Cloud City (14 Prentice St Brunswick) at 2pm to check out the Summer Winds Suburban Revolution show. There's a about a million bands playing (including our two Sunday interstaters) and it honestly looks like it could be totally amazing.

And hey, we're having another market on the 21st of April. If you'd like to be involved, contact us.
