About
This website is a work-in-progress archive of events, documentation and ephemera related to Forepaw, an art-space and sharehouse in Melbourne Australia.
Forepaw was established in 2003 as a jewellery workshop by a group of students from RMIT’s Gold and Silversmithing department.
In late 2005 the workshop dissolved and Forepaw was reimagined as an informal not-for-profit art-space and performance venue.
Forepaw closed at the end of 2008.
Forepaw was located at 275 High Street, Northcote, Victoria Australia.
Text on this website is drawn from contemporaneous blog posts, posters, and email newsletters. Images and video are largely from our own collection. Other sources are credited and linked.
If you have photos, recordings, ephemera, or corrections you would like to share, please contact forepaw.org@gmail.com.

We acknowledge the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the land, the Bunurong Boon Wurrung and Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung peoples of the Eastern Kulin Nation. We pay our respects to Indigenous Elders past, present and emerging. Sovereignty has never been ceded. Always was, always will be, Aboriginal land.
