One of the wealthiest African-American-majority counties in the country, Prince George’s County has grown dramatically in recent decades. Prince George’s is a community that is “proud but honest” about its challenges and deeply rooted in civic pride and faith.
Since 1998, The Community Foundation’s office in Prince George’s County has worked closely with individuals, families, and businesses to match donor intent with community opportunity to create deeper local impact. We serve an important role in the County as a bridge between generous individuals, government and business organizations, and local nonprofit organizations. The Community Foundation’s efforts in Prince George’s County have led to $50 million invested in education, workforce development, health, and safety net services that helped improve lives and build thriving communities.

+ Emerging Leaders Impact Fund
The Emerging Leaders Impact Fund (ELIF) seeks to channel resources to help organizations deepen their impact and provide hope and opportunity in Prince George’s County. ELIF encourages collective giving and civic engagement. Together, we will pool our resources, learn first-hand about nonprofits working in Prince George’s County, and invest in those that help our residents participate more fully in the social and economic growth.
+ Equity and Economic Mobility
With a focus on Equity and Economic Mobility, we seek to partner with Prince George’s County residents and others to increase philanthropy, convene key stakeholders, provide grants to innovative nonprofits and small businesses, and engage new audiences. We will work to eliminate social and economic disparities to help individuals, families, or collective groups improve their economic status and ensure that every Prince Georgian is afforded the opportunities necessary to reach their full human potential unencumbered by race or ethnicity

+ Sharing Prince George's
Sharing Prince George's brings donors together to invest in nonprofit organizations with programs or services that directly serve low-income residents living in Prince George’s County. Grants are awarded to high-impact nonprofits that are working to make a real difference in the lives of children and families. Our current focus is to ensure a just and equitable recovery from COVID-19. Since its inception, Sharing Prince George’s has awarded more than $1 million in grants to some of the best community-based nonprofit organizations serving Prince George’s County residents.
